Roatan's loss is Antigua's gain...Elle Patille, famed covergirl (Playboy et al) has said goodbye to Hondura's famed island and the West End community. She's considered sidelining her modeling career and going back to her first love, animal care(and a few birds)...lucky beasts. She hails from Toronto and has graced many a magazine, either on the cover or in the pictorials. After several years of traveling the world, doing photo shoots hither, thither and yon, the pace and the grueling work of being photogenic have convinced her to go back to her first love, taking care of castaway pets, assorted animals and the occasional macaw.
During an interview, she avowed her wish to do what she first wanted as a child: care for those who have been abused, neglected and abandoned. I confess that I thought about volunteering in those categories but I hate wearing a leash. It's refreshing to see someone who's been successful in a tough career path decide to give it up and do good for others less fortunate. Will she go back to modeling? Possibly, but only if it involves animal rights: there's been mention of her bringing twelve of her girl friends in the modeling business to Antigua, along with a few photographers, in order to shoot photos for a girl/animal calendar, in order to raise funds for her pet projects here. Miss January should be spectacular and I'll need a new calendar anyway.
